William Shakespeare once said that there is no legacy as rich as honesty. And it is on this legacy that Ziqitza Healthcare Limited (ZHL) operates its Ambulance service. Team at Ziqtitza not only believes that every life matters, but also in going beyond their call of duty to truly make a difference in a person’s life.
Ziqitza’s dedication to honesty is highlighted in a case where the helpline received a distress call about an accident from the Bhabanipur old Toll Gate, near the Sundargarh Engineering College in Odisha. After creating a case ID, an Ambulance was dispatched immediately and reached the site within 10 minutes. On transporting the patient to Sundargarh DHH, he was declared dead on arrival. When Ziqitza’s Ambulance staff found the victim at the accident staff, he had Rs 28, 600 on him, besides an iPhone, a smartphone, a gold chain, ring and a new Laptop.
Although it is unfortunate that the patient did not survive, it is noteworthy that Ziqitza’s staff went beyond their call of duty , as ambulance staff handed over the recovered items to the nearest police station. The team which included driver SanjuKupani, EMT, Tankadhar Sandhya and helper, Kujur, were highly praised by the authorities.
Such act of honesty is not an exception at ZHL but a part of the culture. Infact in another case, Ziqitza’s staff received a call from a pregnant lady in the Mayurbhanj district of Bhubaneshwar. The next day when the driver, Nilamadhaba Mohanty was cleaning his ambulance, he discovered that one of her accompanying family members had dropped their wallet inside. Despite several attempts to contact the numbers listed in the wallet, they proved futile. Eventually, he contacted the local reporters with the help of the Cluster leader and word got out to the Block Development Office (BDO). Nilamadhaba finally returned the wallet to its rightful owner in the presence of the reporter and BDO, along with money intact.
Recently another incident occurred in Odisha. What began as a routine transfer of a pregnant woman from Mayurbhanj district in Odisha to the Baripada District Headquarter Hospital (DHH), ended on an inspiring note. While the woman was being transferred in the Ambulance, her husband had forgotten his wallet, account book, voter ID and Aadhar card in the vehicle. His belongings were found by the ZHL driver named Topan Mahanta on the following day, and even after repeated attempts, Topan could not establish contact with him. In the end, Topan contacted the hospital where Basanti was admitted and personally returned the ID cards, along with the wallet in the presence of her mother and daughter.
Such incidents exemplify the fact that apart from providing quality healthcare and prompt medical emergency response services, ZHL’s staff, like in case of Bikash Brindhan and Nilamdhaba, Topan, among others, go the extra mile to ensure honesty and integrity in trying situations..
Ziqitza HealthCare Ltd. through their value-driven operations and work culture, aim to be the beacon of light when situations look bleak. ZHL also aims to make a difference in the lives of their patients, through both medical as well as social aid.
